Daniel M. Weiskopf

Dan Weiskopf practices in complex commercial litigation. He regularly represents individuals, emerging technology companies, financial institutions, regional businesses, and Fortune 500 companies in a wide range of business disputes. Dan’s recent representations include:
  • Defense of a director/majority shareholder in a dispute with a former business partner (received unanimous defense verdict after jury trial)
  • Defense of an individual in a dispute with a former employer arising from their employment agreement (received defense award after arbitration)
  • Defense of a bank from wrongful termination claims by the bank’s former CEO (obtained favorable settlement on the last day of a three-week jury trial)
  • Defense of a hedge fund against breach of contract claims brought by its former parent (received defense award after arbitration)
  • Defense of a hedge fund in a compensation dispute with a former managing director (obtained full dismissal on summary judgment)
  • Defense of a financial institution against an investor class action related to the institution’s investments in a Ponzi scheme (obtained full dismissal on motion to dismiss)

In addition, Dan has performed extensive pro bono work representing indigent clients in civil disputes, administrative proceedings, and criminal matters.

Dan attended Oberlin College and Yale Law School. During law school, Dan served as a judicial extern for the Honorable David F. Hamilton in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. Before joining McNaul, Dan was a litigation associate at Debevoise & Plimpton in New York, and Yarmuth Wilsdon Calfo and Calfo Harrigan Leyh & Eakes in Seattle.
