Michael Helgren

Mike Helgren is a trial attorney for McNaul Ebel in the areas of product liability, lender liability, director and officer liability, professional malpractice, civil rights, health care, personal injury, insurance coverage, employment discrimination, and commercial, trust and estate disputes, and maritime law.

Mr. Helgren has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in his practice. The cases he handles are often high-profile, and range from those involving financial institutions, to motion picture distributors, natural resource companies, telecommunication companies, recyclers, product defects, trust and business valuation, shareholder rights, fiduciary duties, antitrust, healthcare fraud, and insurance companies. Much of Mr. Helgren's recent time has been devoted to class action litigation.

Mr. Helgren graduated from St. Olaf College magna cum laude in 1975. He received his law degree from the University of Washington School of Law in 1980 with highest honors and was elected to the Order of the Coif. Following law school, Mr. Helgren clerked for Justice Robert F. Utter of the Washington State Supreme Court from 1980 to 1981. He entered private practice in 1981 with the firm of Culp Dwyer Guterson & Grader, and remained with the firm until 1995 when he became a founding member of McNaul Ebel Nawrot & Helgren.

In addition to his practice, Mr. Helgren has written papers for and made presentations to the legal community, and served on the boards of various social service and arts organizations.
