McNaul Ebel Nawrot & Helgren PLLC is organized to serve our clients in three main areas of practice: litigation, real estate and business.

Litigation

In litigation, our philosophy is simple: the best results in litigation—whether in court or in settlement discussions—are achieved when the opposing side knows you can and will try the case to a winning conclusion. Because we are known and respected as experienced and effective trial attorneys in complex civil and criminal matters before juries and judges, we believe we maximize our clients' chances of obtaining successful outcomes. And while our clients hire us for our trial expertise, we pride ourselves on bringing a cost effective approach to litigation to ensure the best results possible are achieved at the appropriate cost.

Real estate

The attorneys in our real estate group have considerable experience in the areas of real estate finance, property acquisitions, project development, construction, commercial leasing, property management and sales of projects. We handle all manner of real estate issues for property owners, investors, sellers, purchasers, lenders, developers, managers and contractors.

Much of McNaul Ebel's work in real estate involves large and sophisticated transactions conducted by major investment firms, both in the northwest and throughout the United States. For example, we represented the Washington State Convention and Trade Center in connection with its expansion in downtown Seattle. We also recently represented the seller of the operations, real property and associated assets of the W Hotel – Union Square in Manhattan, a single transaction with a value of $285 million.

Perhaps the most distinguishing characteristic of McNaul Ebel's real estate attorneys is a keen ability to "drive the deal" and work aggressively to provide timely and cost-effective solutions. Our real estate group is large enough to offer the diverse experience and to handle the most complex deals, yet individualized enough to pay particular attention to the specialized needs of each client.

Business

Our corporate and business transactional lawyers represent a wide array of clients—from sole proprietors to technology start-ups to closely-held, emerging growth companies—in a broad spectrum of corporate, commercial and transactional matters, including strategic planning, entity formation, private equity and debt financing, board and corporate governance processes, mergers and acquisitions, executive and non-executive employment matters, commercial licensing and contract negotiations, risk management, statutory and regulatory compliance, and tax issues. We know from years of experience that every business (and every business owner) has unique opportunities that require customized approaches, and that "one size fits all" is not the best approach to business practice. Instead, we strive to build and maintain close bonds with our corporate and business clients—bonds that are fostered by listening closely and learning as much as possible about the client's business, and are sustained by a genuine passion for what the client intends to achieve.
