Marc O. Winters

Marc Winters’ practice encompasses a wide range of real estate and business transactions. In his role as managing member of the firm’s Real Estate and Capital Markets Practice, Marc structures and implements transactions involving the joint venturing, acquisition, financing, development, management, restructuring, and disposition of commercial real estate projects and branded assets. Marc regularly negotiates, documents, and closes eight- and nine-figure transactions in major US markets. 

Marc counsels private and public funds, tax-exempt investors, real estate investment trusts, foreign investors, lenders, borrowers, developers, landlords, and tenants on a variety of business transactions affecting all aspects of their investment portfolios. He is highly regarded for establishing best practices and protocols for real estate investment, portfolio fund, and lending transactions, and he is a frequent speaker at northwest and national real estate seminars.

Marc has been counsel to many noteworthy real estate projects, including the Capitol Hill Sound Transit Station, the Pacific Place retail complex, Via6 apartments, the Bravern Office Commons, the SuperMall of the Great Northwest, the Washington State Convention Center, W Hotels, and a host of other projects across the United States.

The United States Green Building Council (USGBC) has recognized Marc’s expertise in the sustainable development and operation of real estate projects by designating him as a LEED Accredited Professional. The LEED Green Building Rating System is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high-performance green buildings. Marc is the coauthor of Retrofitting Office Buildings to Be Green and Energy-Efficient (Urban Land Institute, 2009).

Marc has been recognized multiple times as AV Preeminent (5.0-5.0 peer review rating) by Martindale-Hubbell and LexisNexis, as a Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers magazine, and as a Top Lawyer by Seattle Met magazine.

In addition to his legal work, Marc is an accomplished professional drummer who plays live shows in the Seattle area and on locally produced albums.
